Who knows because the story does not address it. Presumably there was a sea here after all some time in the past. Some of which you can later enter and explore. Vistas are decorated by derelict wreckage of huge oil tankers logged between mountain peaks and it looks very cool. Kinda weird for lush and wet equatorial Caribbean environment where pirates are usually set but when did Borderlands ever made sense? Environments consist of dusty/rocky dunes and occasional oasis. That's a good thing because repetitiveness didn't have time kick in.

Took me 2 days to 100% compared to 11 days base game. There are few positive exceptions though. It basically a re-skin of the main game so whatever you liked or hated there can apply here. Costumes, weapon props and few missions are suited to the new setting but not much has been done in voice acting department - if any. Same thing as the main game but with dash of pirate flavor. It gives you about 7-10 hours of content that are almost always fun. The only reason that I survived is because I had 4.2% max health regen per second through skill. The biggest problem is that the acid clouds are damaging you the whole damn time. Then you can do damage but he has a insane amount of health. This will cause very gradual damage to them. Then you have to get Master Gee to run though them. Some enemies pop up and you have to kill them. When you start the fight he is literally invincible. He is the most annoying thing about this DLC. Then his attacks become extremely hard to avoid if you are not on the other side of the arena. This cycle will repeat until all four shield bots are destroyed. To harm him, you have to damage all four bots so that go into repair mode. At the start of the battle, four bots appear the shield Hyperius. Hyperius is a Hyperion engineer type boss. The raid bosses are honestly some of the most annoying raid bosses in the game. Seraph Crystals are only dropped by Seraph Guardian, A.K.A the two new raid bosses. Some are dropped by the new bosses or can be bought with Seraph crystals. They are just as powerful as legendaries, if not more powerful. There is also a new rarity of weapons introduced. It deals tremendous damage but every hit costs you a little bit of health. They are extremely powerful but have huge side effects. They are basically the sand skiffs from Star Wars episode 6. It is set on a ancient, dried out sea bed. The environment is unique among all the DLC. She is one of my favorite Borderlands 2 character. She is a very well mannered and charismatic pirate. There is Herbert, a hermit who is in love with Scarlet. There is Shade, the only survivor of a remote desert town who posed all the dead citizens and put speakers by them. The characters you meet, however, is anything but basic. You start by collecting the map pieces, finding the treasure’s location and kill Scarlet to get it. She still needs your help) to find a treasure.

Help Captain Scarlett (Who assures you that she will betray you but not yet. As you can guess from the name, this is a pirate themed expansion. Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty was the first DLC for Borderlands 2.
